The desktop app for Windows. Open your KiCad or Altium project and Ally reviews the board, then fixes what you ask it to, checked before anything touches your files.

Download for Windows

Works with KiCad projects (.kicad_pro, KiCad 6 and later) and Altium Designer projects (.PrjPcb). For changes on Altium boards, Altium Designer must be open on the same computer. Mac and Linux aren't supported yet.

Install it

  1. Run the installer

Open electronically-setup-0.1.5.exe from your Downloads folder.

  2. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC"

The app isn't code-signed yet (that's coming), so Windows doesn't know who made it and warns you the first time. Click More info, check that the app is electronically-setup, then click Run anyway. You only see this once.

An illustration of the steps, not a real window. If your company's computer blocks unsigned apps, ask your IT team, or wait for the signed version.

  3. Sign in with your email

Type your email in the app. We email you a link; open it, check the page shows the same short code as the app, and you're in. No password. A new account is created the same way.

  4. Open your project

Choose your .kicad_pro or .PrjPcb file, or drag it onto the window. Answer a few optional questions, and the first review starts. It usually takes a few minutes.

What it costs

Reviews and questions are free. Changes Ally applies to your files cost credits, and the number is shown on the Apply button before you press it. A new account gets free credits to start. See pricing.
