Where your files go

The electronically app reads your project folder on your computer and sends a copy to our servers so the checks and Ally, the AI reviewer, can work on it. Here is where that copy goes, who can see it, and when it's deleted. It's the same on every plan.

United States only
Your files are processed and stored on servers in the United States (Virginia), and nowhere else.
No training
Your files are never used to train or tune AI models, ours or anyone's, and never used as examples for another customer.
Only for you
Your files are processed only to review and change your own board, when you ask. They never go to our test machines.
Deleted when you ask
Ask in the app's chat (Help → Talk to us) or by email and we delete one project or your whole account. Backups are kept at most 28 days, so within 30 days no copy is left anywhere.

The path your files take

On your computer
The app reads your project folder and shows every change, before and after, before it touches a file. Before each change it applies, it saves a copy of the files it will change in a folder on your computer (%APPDATA%\hardcore\snapshots), so you can restore. Those copies never leave your computer.
Upload
For a review, the app sends a copy of the project (without backups, caches and files over 50 MB) over HTTPS to our server in Ashburn, Virginia. When the folder changes, it sends the changed files.
Work
The checks and changes run on that same server. Each job gets its own folder, which is deleted when the job ends.
AI
When Ally works on your request, the parts of your project and the chat it needs are sent to the AI model, under commercial terms that forbid training on your data.
Backups
In the US, kept at most 28 days.

The services that see your data

Hetzner
Our server, in Ashburn, Virginia. Stores your uploaded projects and runs the checks and changes. Sees your files.
Anthropic
The AI model (Claude), through its API in the US, under commercial terms that forbid training on your data. Sees the parts of your project and chat that a job sends it.
Supabase
Our database, in East US (North Virginia). Holds your account, check results, chat and problem reports. Sees check results and chat text, not your design files.
Resend
Sends our emails (sign-in links and account notices), from its US East region. Sees your email address and the email.
Payments
Our payment provider sees what you pay for and your billing details, never your files.

Nobody else sees your files. Our test machines (some of them outside the US) hold only public projects and our own examples; customer files never go to them.

Who can open your project

You
And the people you invite, with the role you give them.
electronically staff
Only to help when you ask, or to look into a problem you reported. Today that's one person, the founder. Each time is written to an access log.
Nobody else
Someone else asking for your project gets "not found", so they can't even tell it exists.

Deletion when unused (coming)

What's planned
After 90 days without any use (no sign-in, no app use, no jobs) we'll delete your projects from our servers. We'll email you 14 days before, with a link to a "Keep my files" button. Your account and the files on your own computer stay.
Today
This isn't switched on yet: nothing is deleted for inactivity, and we'll say here when it starts. You can ask us to delete your projects or account at any time.

What else the app sends

Usage events
Small records tied to your account, for example: you signed in, the app opened, a project opened (KiCad or Altium), a change was looked at, a change was applied or restored, you rated an answer. They help us see what works. They never contain your files.
Problem reports
Only when you send one (Help → Report a problem), and only the parts you tick: your email, the app and Windows version, the app's log (keys and tokens removed) and a screenshot of the app. Never your project files.

Plain limits

One server
If it fails, the app is down until it's restored from backup. Your files aren't lost, but you'd wait.
No outside audit yet
Sign-in is by email link with no passwords, every connection is HTTPS, and keys live only on the server. A penetration test is planned.
Not for controlled data
Don't upload export-controlled (ITAR/EAR), defense or medical-device files.

A plain summary of how we handle your files, not a contract. Questions: ask in the app (Help → Talk to us) or email support@electronically.ai. See also the Privacy Policy and Terms.
